A Visit With The Tiger!!

We had a great week!!! With most of the time off from work, Jessica, Zach, David the Tiger and I were able to relax and enjoy the time visiting by the pool. By our clocks, it was always 5 o'clock here, so we indulged in every sense of the word.

On one of our excursions into Savannah, we took a trolley ride and toured the cities beautiful historical places. Taylor love the trolley ride and participated happily in everything we did. When the tour was over, we tried to get in at Paula Deans for an early dinner. She was booked up and so was Mrs. Wilkes so we strolled down to the "Mellow Mushroom" where we had pizza and beer!!! The pizza was great!!! The company was even better and I need not go into how enjoyable the time with Taylor was.

Wednesday and Thursday Jess and Zach went up to Charleston, SC so Papa and I spent our time experiencing life from a 20 month old's perspective. Wow...could he keep us busy. We went to the Nature Reserve to see the alligators, birds and fish, checked out the excavators in the area (a past time of the Tigers) and headed home to do chalk art on the driveway and blow some bubbles. We swam, went for walks, and truly enjoyed the time we had alone with him.

Friday flew by... and before we knew it they were packing up the car to head home Saturday morning. We had an awesome visit so needless to say, Nana is anxiously awaiting the next time they visit!

Here are some photo's of the week we had! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed the time I spent taking them!
It begins with the vision to recognize when a job, a life stage, a relationship, is over--and let it go.

It involves a sense of the future, a belief that every exit line is an entry, that we are moving on, rather than out.

Sharing the End of Life:

Sharing the wonder and the terror of witnessing our child’s final days of life is a very extraordinary and intimate experience. There is no other path so devastatingly sacred or painfully traveled as this. It is my belief that no other experience in life can make us question the validity of our Heavenly Father’s genuine assurance of comfort like having to trust and lay our child in Christ’s heavenly arms.

With the loss of a child come long days and difficult frightening nights. The loss of a child’s laughter resonates all around us making the absence of their presence huge! It is essential to recognize that the stillness of their absence attests to the true intimacy experienced between child and parent.

Let me share with you the silence of your pain and let me offer you my support. In the end of life what matters and makes a difference is, taking the time to slow down, to hold a hand, to give support, to just be and to share the silence.

"We experience intimacy not by sharing words, but by sharing the silence."

Just Be

Be yourself and relate person to person.
Be ready to listen again and again.
Be respectful.
Be aware of feelings and non-verbal cues.
Be present.
Be comfortable with silence.
Be human.
Be genuine.
Most of all--Be there.
